App control
Somfy and QMotion offer apps that can control your blinds from your mobile phone or tablet, all you need is an appropriate hub. Somfy offer TaHoma Switch and QMotion have QSync. You can set up timers and scenes so that multiple operations can take place from one command. Somfy and QMotions apps are compatible with Android and iOS devices.
Tablets
Apps are available for Android and iOS devices for tablets in the same way as for mobile phones.

Voice control of Somfy powered blinds
To control blinds and awnings powered by Somfy motors you will need a Somfy TaHoma Switch hub. The TaHoma Switch hub connects wirelessly to your existing internet router and allows voice commands given to Alexa to control any Somfy RTS, io or Zigbee blind or awning. To close your bedroom blinds for example you simply say, "Alexa, close bedoom blinds". The TaHoma hub then runs a routine that you've already set up that will close any blinds, and if also connected to TaHoma it can dim or turn off lights, control thermostats, turn off anything that can plug into a Somfy RTS plug.
Zigbee motors offer more control
With the new Zigbee motors from Somfy you can now ask Alexa to open the blinds 32% or any other amount so you can adjust your blinds to the perfect position.

The TaHoma hub then runs a routine that youve already set up that will close any blinds, and if also connected to TaHoma it can dim or turn off lights, control thermostats, turn off anything that can plug into a Somfy RTS plug.

With Google Assistant you can use your voice to control the connected equipment you have configured in the TaHoma app.
• At home, with Google's connected speakers: Google Home and other speakers that offer Google Assistant.
• On the move, with your smartphone or compatible Android and iOS tablet.
What can I ask Google?
Thanks to the compatibility* between Google Assistant and TaHoma, you can use your voice to:
• Launch a scenario created in the TaHoma app
• Control an item of equipment using the name you give it in the TaHoma app
• Control a group of equipment
How does it work?
1. Say « Ok Google » to wake up the voice assistant.
2. Say the trigger words « activate », « switch on », « open » or any other action verb which corresponds to the product in question.
3. Say the name of the scenario, the equipment as you named it in TaHoma, or the group of equipment you want to launch.
Control of your blinds is available using the Apple Homekit and Somfys TaHoma Switch. Just ask Siri to control your blinds.

These days we like to control everything via our mobile devices and blinds are no exception. App control of blinds is possible with most motorised blinds even if you've got the blinds already.

Our smartphones and tablets are increasingly important in our daily lives. QMotion shades are as convenient to control as your phones. With the addition of Qsync technology, QMotion shades move up and down easier than sending a text message. Qsync works with the QMotion app available in your app store today. It transforms a smartphone or tablet into the most elegant and functional transmitter for QMotion products.
If you dont need or want voice or app control there are always handsets and switches available. Even if you have an alternative method of operating your blinds it is still sometimes a good idea to have a handset in the kitchen drawer. Or you might want a wall switch located next to your blind. If you have guests staying a wall switch is a much more obvious way of operating the blinds than having to find a device with the appropriate app or getting the correct command to give Alexa.
Somfy
Somfy offer many handsets, wall switches and timers. Multi channel handsets are available up to a maximum of 16 channels if you have more than one blind in each room. Timers are available either wall mounted or as handsets that can fit in a holster on the wall. The Telis Modulis range are available for venetian and vertical blinds to more accurately control the position of slats and louvres.

qmotion offer single channel and multi channel handsets along with timer handsets.
